The questions every couple and planner asks
Straight answers on booking, space and power, breaks, insurance, and the first-dance song. If yours isn't here, call us.
How far in advance should we book?
Prime Saturdays from September through November tend to go six to nine months out, and popular holiday weekends even earlier. That said, we get last-minute openings from reschedules, so it is always worth asking even on short notice.
Will you learn our first-dance song if it isn't on your list?
Yes. We learn up to two special requests per event at no extra charge, including a first dance that isn't in our book, as long as we have the final version by your planning call — usually about three weeks out.
How much space and power do you need?
The full seven-piece is comfortable on a stage or floor area of roughly 16 by 12 feet. We bring our own PA and lighting and need two dedicated 20-amp circuits for the full band. We'll send a one-page tech sheet to your venue once you book.
Do you provide music for the ceremony and cocktail hour?
We can cover all three. A guitar-and-vocal acoustic set handles the ceremony, a trio or duo keeps cocktail hour live, and the full band takes the reception. Most couples add at least the ceremony set.
What happens during the band's breaks?
The dance floor never goes quiet. We run a curated playlist through our PA during breaks, matched to your crowd, so there is music from the moment doors open until the last song.
Can you keep it clean for a corporate or family event?
Absolutely. We keep clean-lyric arrangements of everything in the book and will flag anything borderline during planning. For corporate nights we also handle a tidy, uniformed load-in that AV and venue teams tend to appreciate.
Do you MC and make announcements?
On request, yes — grand entrance, toasts, cake, bouquet, last dance. Some couples want a chatty bandleader and some want us to barely touch the mic between songs. We'll match whichever you prefer.
Are you insured, and can our venue get a certificate?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance and will issue a certificate of insurance naming your venue, at no charge, as soon as you need it for your contract.
Do you play outdoor and off-grid events?
We do, often — the Hill Country is full of ranch venues. For outdoor dates we just need shade or a tent for the players and gear, and either venue power or a quiet generator sized correctly. We learned that last part the hard way; ask us about it.
What's the deposit and cancellation policy?
A signed agreement and a deposit of roughly a third holds your date, with the balance due before the event. Our full cancellation and reschedule terms are spelled out in the contract — no surprises, and we walk you through them before you sign.
